Procedure Text - Recipe

Tujuan Pembelajaran: 

•  Mengidentifikasi fungsi, struktur, dan unsur kebahasaan procedural text -Recipe
  
•  Menjawab pertanyaan berdasarkan informasi dalam teks recipe
  

 

Nyummi, suka ngga dengan ice lemon tea? Cocok buat suasana belajar saat ini. Anyway, Kali ini kita akan belajar tentang Procedure Text. Procedure text is a text which explain the steps how to make something or how to do something (ialah teks yang menjelaskan tahapan untuk membuat sesuatu dan melakukan sesuatu). Salah satu jenis procedure text ialah recipe (resep) yang merupakan teks yang menujukan bagaimana cara membuat minuman atau makanan. Nah pada bagian pertama ini kita akan belajar tentang struktur, unsur kebahasaan dan contoh dari recipe untuk membuat makanan atau minuman. Sekarang amati contoh procedure text berikut:

Struktur Utama dalam Procedure Text

• Aim/Goal : Stating the title of the recipe
  
• Ingredients / Material: Stating the material needed to make the food or drink
  
• Steps/methods : Stating the steps to make the food/drink

Unsur-unsur kebahasaan dalam Procedure Text:

• Imperative Sentence (Kalimat Perintah):
  Rumusnya : Verb1 + object + complement
  Contoh :
  Combine sugar, pandan leaves, and water (campurkan gula, pandan dan air)
  Add salt (Tambahkan garam)
  Put the pan on to the stove (Letakkan panci ke atas kompor)
  (materi imperative sentence juga dibahas disini dan disini
  

• Temporal Conjuction (Kata Penghubung yang Menunjukan Sekuens/tahapan)
  first, second, third, before, next, the last, dll.
  Contoh :
  1. First, press the power button. (Pertama, tekan tombol power)
  2. The next step, boil the water. (Tahap berikutnya, didihkan airnya)

• Action Verbs
  Action verbs ialah kata kerja yang menunjukan aktifitas. Contoh: combine, stir, pour, cook, boil, serve, etc.

Contoh Recipe

How to Simple Fried Rice

Ingredients:

• 1 plate of cooked rice
• 2 eggs
• 1 teaspoon of salt
• 2 medium onions, chopped
• 1 cloves of garlic, chopped
• Chili powder (adjust based on your spicy level)
• 1 tablespoon of tomato sauce
• 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
  

Steps of how to cook fried rice:

1. Heat a medium frying pan and pour the vegetable oil.
2. After it’s heated enough, add the garlic, onion, and chili.
3. Stir-fry the ingredients until it’s tender.
4. Add the eggs and scramble it until half cooked.
5. Pour the cooked rice, then keep stir for a minute.
6. Next, add the seasoning such as the sauce, pepper, and salt, and mix them all with the rice.
7. After it’s well cooked, take the fried rice and serve on the plate.
