Procedure Text - Imperative Sentence

Tujuan Pembelajaran:

• Mengidentifikasi Imperative Sentence dari Procedure Text
• Membuat Imperative Sentence
  

Kalimat perintah atau dalam Bahasa Inggrisnya ialah Imperative Sentence merupakan kalimat yang digunakan untuk memberikan instruksi atau perintah. Ciri dari kalimat ini biasanya tanpa disertai subjek kalimat.

Contoh:

• Boil the water. (Didihkan airnya)
• Kick that ball. (Tendang bola itu)

Perhatikan bahwa kedua kalimat di atas tidak menggunakan subject seperti pada kalimat biasa berikut:

• I boil the water. (Saya mendidihkan airnya)
• Jason kicks that ball. (Jason menendang bola itu)

Untuk  membuat Imperative sentence, kita mulai kalimatnya dengan verb (kata kerja) kemudian diikuti objectnya. (VERB + OBJECT) Contoh:

• Send the message. (kirimkan pesannya) warna merah ialah verb, dan biru ialah objectnya.
• Hit all the mosquitoes (pukul semua nyamuknya)
• Add some salt to the soup (tambahkan garam ke supnya)
• Slice the onion (iris bawangnya)
